Got Stress?
These days, many people are feeling stressed for a lot of reasons. There are ongoing wars around the world, serious weather events like hurricanes and tornadoes, and news that often feels frightening. On top of that, everyday life and political issues can add even more pressure. With so many challenges all around us, it’s no wonder that people are feeling overwhelmed.Â
However, it is important to understand that you can handle these difficult times without needing a drink!
It is more important now than ever to have good stress management tools when we are embracing an alcohol-free lifestyle!
That's why I wanted to share with you three of my best tools for dealing with stress!Â
The first step, however, is to stop and acknowledge where you are. Honor where you are, honor that these are stressful times, and it is perfectly normal to feel stressed out right now! Put your hand on your heart and just honor where you are for a moment.
Now you are ready to manage your stress with some new tools!!
Tapping (EFT)
(Emotional Freedom Technique) This is a fabulous tool for recognizing and releasing anger, sadness, stress and also super useful for cravings! I was very skeptical of this at first, and you might be too, but it works!

You don't need alcohol to cope with stress!
I hope you find these tools helpful. If you used to drink to manage your stress like I did, then finding and practicing ways to deal with stress without drinking is crucial to success in changing your drinking!
Listen, they take practice, you can't just try them once. Practice the one that you like best for a week, so it is a tool you know how to use when in need!!Â
Everyone needs good tools for managing the stresses of life without needing alcohol to cope!Â
Not every tool is for everyone. I have many more tools! When I work with clients we experiment and find the ones that work best for YOU!
This is your journey, your goals, your life!Â
Exploring our drinking is usually not a one and done, but more like a merry-go-round, we get on and off and on again over and over.Â
I’d love to chat with you and see what questions you have, or what your biggest barriers are to reaching your goals for your drinking. I know it can be hard, believe me, sometimes it's nice to talk with someone who “gets it”.

"Working with Susan on a weekly basis was the accountability that I needed in order to see change. Susan’s approach was exactly what I was looking for in a coach. She was through and had the tools to help me get through any challenges I faced. Our sessions were collaborative and focused on the importance of unpacking issues I was working on. Susan has a compassionate approach to coaching and I looked forward to our sessions every week."
